The Faculty of Arts and Social Science (FASS) is headed by a Dean who is the administrative and academic head of the faculty. The current Dean for the Faculty of Arts and Social Science is Dr. Augustus S. Muluvi.

He holds a PhD in Economics specializing in Trade and Development Economics and a Master’s degree in Economics both from Dar es Salaam University and a Bachelor of Arts (Economics and Sociology) from Egerton University. 

Dr Muluvi has been a Senior Lecturer since the year 2013 and currently he is the Dean of Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences. Previously, Dr Muluvi served as a Principal Policy Analyst at Kenya Institute of Public Policy Research and Analysis (KIPPRA).Dr Muluvi has extensive experience in teaching and research, acquired from both Egerton University and KIPPRA. Dr Muluvi has extensively published in different journal on trade, agriculture and other related areas. In addition, Dr Muluvi has participated in various government taskforces to advice on public policy research.
