The Directorate provides relevant supportive services to researchers, students and staff who are running projects that are internally and externally funded. The Directorate also coordinates consultancy, extension and outreach activities to various communities within the country and beyond.  Our commitment is delivery of the best services to researchers and other stakeholders.The Directorate of Research and Extension is headed by the Director, Research and Extension .

Egerton University’s research portfolio is a testament to our commitment to 'Transforming Lives through Quality Education.' Our projects span the entire agricultural value chain—from genomic research in climate-resilient crops to the implementation of sustainable dairy value chains. By integrating multidisciplinary teams and state-of-the-art laboratory facilities, we turn complex challenges into scalable solutions. Currently, our researchers are leading over 40 active projects funded by global partners, focusing on food security, environmental conservation, and socio-economic policy innovation.
