The department offers training on the basic veterinary sciences (veterinary Anatomy, Histology, Embryology and Physiology) which form the foundation of veterinary program as well as animal sciences. The staffs in the department are involved in multidisciplinary research, community outreach and animal welfare advocacy.  The department also offers practical trainings/sessions to students in other tertiary institutions particularly those pursuing veterinary paraprofessional programs/courses.
