Rationale
Biomedical Links & Market Readiness
The Biochemistry programme is strategically designed to provide a vital link between human medicine and public health for the advancement of humanity. Graduates from this programme enrich the human resource capacity in research facilities, healthcare sectors, and educational institutions focusing on both animal and plant research vectors.
Needs Assessment: This is an ongoing accredited programme. A comprehensive situational market survey and needs assessment were rigorously executed prior to the formal institutional accreditation of the curriculum.
Programme Objective
Molecular Discovery & Biotechnology
This curriculum empowers learners to map out biological processes at the cellular level. Upon completion, graduates will be able to:
- Analyze and understand the underlying physiological mechanisms of animal and plant evolution, growth, development, and reproduction.
- Evaluate cellular pathology, disease configurations, and the molecular markers governing senescent timelines.
- Deconstruct complex biological life models logically, critically, and quantitatively on a strict molecular basis.
- Apply essential biochemical knowledge to pioneer future discoveries and technological innovations across biology, biotechnology, and medicine.
